What do we rely on at ENCAVIS? The sun. The wind. And on you.
Welcome to Encavis! Our world is all about the power of the sun, the wind and the more than 400 people across our group who are working together to shape the energy system of the future in order to ensure a sustainable energy supply for future generations.
ENCAVIS Management GmbH & Co. KG is the holding company of ENCAVIS GmbH, one of Europe's leading electricity producers from renewable energies. We operate a broadly diversified portfolio of over 330 onshore wind farms, ground-mounted solar plants and battery storage facilities in 13 European countries with an installed capacity of more than 5 GW. And best of all, we are continuing to grow! Our subsidiaries, Stern Energy SpA, which operates throughout Europe as a specialist in technical services for photovoltaic systems, and Encavis Portfolio Management GmbH, which specialises in supporting institutional investors, complement our portfolio.
What does this mean for you? The opportunity to make a difference, to shape and change things. As part of a multinational team that enjoys helping to make the energy transition a success.
Project Finance at Encavis
Beyond the portfolio itself, Encavis is building a next-generation IPP: we combine renewable generation, battery storage and market-oriented optimization to deliver affordable clean energy to industrial customers. Since 2024 we have been backed by KKR, whose long-term capital underpins our target of more than 11 GW of installed capacity by 2030 and gives us a robust financing base for the years ahead.
Our Project Finance team is staffed with professionals from leading project finance banks and acts as Encavis' own in-house Financial Advisor: we sound out the market, select and negotiate with lenders, run due diligence and draft LMA-style facility agreements ourselves. The team has arranged and manages close to EUR 2 billion of non-recourse debt across Europe, most recently a EUR 282 million financing for a 351 MW Italian solar portfolio with a consortium of six international banks. Our growth strategy requires roughly EUR 1 billion in new project financings every year, and we are scaling the team accordingly. At Encavis, project finance is usually not bilateral lending: it means bringing together international banking clubs to deliver financing packages of EUR 100+ million. If you want to be part of the whole structuring process from day one and grow with us towards a Senior role, we look forward to hearing from you.
As a Junior Project Finance Manager (m/f/d), you will be part of the entire structuring process from day one, supporting our Senior Project Finance Managers across all areas of structuring financings for wind, solar and battery storage (BESS) projects, as well as risk management across our existing Encavis portfolio. In this role, you will develop your expertise as part of Encavis' growing financing platform, with the opportunity to grow into a Senior Project Finance Manager role.
Your sunny outlook:
- Structuring & Execution: You work alongside our Senior Project Finance Managers on European project financings for wind, solar and BESS assets, from new financings and refinancings to warehouse and bridge facilities, and you take on your own workstreams within each transaction as you build experience.
- Bank Selection & Market Sounding: You prepare bank presentations and information packages, track lender feedback and compare incoming term sheets, so the team can shape competing offers into one bankable structure.
- Documentation & Contract Review: You work with LMA-standard financing agreements alongside our external legal advisors and review key project contracts such as EPC, PPA and O&M from a bankability perspective, building your documentation expertise transaction by transaction.
- Due Diligence & Risk Management: You coordinate workstreams with external advisors, such as legal, technical, or tax advisors, prepare due diligence findings for the deal team and support internal teams like Operations and PPA Origination with financing-related issues, waivers and consent requests.
- Financial Modelling: You review financial models prepared by external model providers for plausibility, coordinate the flow of information between our internal teams and the provider during model build, and oversee the model audit process through to the issuance of a satisfactory model audit report.
- Closing & Portfolio Support: You manage CP/CS checklists towards financial close in coordination with deal team and external advisors, and you help monitor covenants and reporting obligations across our existing portfolio.
- Market Monitoring: You follow lender and debt capital market developments in renewable energy and prepare the analyses that feed into our financing strategy.
We'll get wind of that soon:
- Experience: You bring around 2 to 3 years of experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, transaction advisory, corporate banking or a comparable environment, and you have worked on financing transactions in some capacity.
- Education: You hold a Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a comparable field.
- Analytical Strength: You are confident in Excel-based financial modelling, enjoy working through detail and have a good instinct for where risk sits in a structure.
- Contracts & Documentation: You have had first contact with financing or project documentation, or you are motivated to build this expertise quickly with support from experienced colleagues.
- Way of Working & Mindset: You work in a structured, independent way, take ownership of your workstreams and enjoy being part of a small team where everyone sees the whole transaction. You are ready to go the extra mile when a closing demands it: intense phases with tight deadlines come with the territory, and we tackle them together as a team.
- Curiosity & Communication: You are genuinely interested in renewable energy and debt capital markets, communicate confidently in English and German, and are happy to travel occasionally across our European markets.
