What do we rely on at ENCAVIS? The sun. The wind. And on you.
Welcome to Encavis! Our world is all about the power of the sun, the wind and the more than 400 people across our group who are working together to shape the energy system of the future in order to ensure a sustainable energy supply for future generations.
ENCAVIS Management GmbH & Co. KG is the holding company of ENCAVIS GmbH, one of Europe's leading electricity producers from renewable energies. We operate a broadly diversified portfolio of over 330 onshore wind farms, ground-mounted solar plants and battery storage facilities in 13 European countries with an installed capacity of more than 5 GW. And best of all, we are continuing to grow! Our subsidiaries, Stern Energy SpA, which operates throughout Europe as a specialist in technical services for photovoltaic systems, and Encavis Portfolio Management GmbH, which specialises in supporting institutional investors, complement our portfolio.
What does this mean for you? The opportunity to make a difference, to shape and change things. As part of a multinational team that enjoys helping to make the energy transition a success.
Project Finance at Encavis
Beyond the portfolio itself, Encavis is building a next-generation IPP: we combine renewable generation, battery storage and market-oriented optimisation to deliver affordable clean energy to industrial customers. Since 2024 we have been backed by KKR, whose long-term capital underpins our target of more than 11 GW of installed capacity by 2030 and gives us a robust financing base for the years ahead.
Our Project Finance team is staffed with professionals from leading project finance banks and acts as Encavis' own in-house Mandated Lead Arranger: we sound out the market, select and negotiate with lenders, run due diligence and draft LMA-style facility agreements ourselves. The team has arranged and manages close to EUR 2 billion of non-recourse debt across Europe, most recently a EUR 282 million financing for a 351 MW Italian solar portfolio with a consortium of six international banks. Our growth strategy requires roughly EUR 1 billion in new project financings every year, and we are scaling the team accordingly. If you want landmark transactions of EUR 100+ million, direct lender dialogue on equal footing and real influence on which projects Encavis acquires, this is your seat.
As a Senior Project Finance Manager (m/f/d), you will take a leading role in independently structuring, arranging and executing complex non-recourse project financings for wind, solar and battery storage (BESS) projects. You will manage international financing processes end-to-end, negotiate directly with banks and financial institutions, lead financial closings and help shape the strategic development of Encavis' financing platform and portfolio.
Your sunny outlook:
- Structuring & Execution: You independently structure, arrange and execute international non-recourse financings for wind, solar and BESS assets, from new financings and refinancings to warehouse and bridge facilities, and you develop innovative structures that reflect regulatory and market conditions across our Western European core markets.
- Bank Selection & Negotiation: You lead market sounding, select the right lenders and harmonise competing offers into one bankable financing structure, negotiating directly with international banks rather than through advisors.
- Documentation & Contract Review: You prepare, review and negotiate LMA-standard financing agreements together with external legal counsel, and you optimise key project contracts such as EPC, PPA and O&M from a bankability perspective with the responsible internal teams.
- Due Diligence & Risk Management: You coordinate due diligence with external advisors, translate findings into robust mitigation strategies and support Operations and PPA Origination in resolving financing-related issues, waivers and consent requests.
- Financial Modelling & Closing: You manage and validate complex financial models, run sensitivity and covenant analyses, coordinate the model audit and lead financial closings including CP/CS management and hedging coordination.
- Leadership & Market Intelligence: You lead deal teams, mentor junior colleagues, work closely with Investments, Construction, Operations, Legal and Tax, and you monitor lender and capital market trends to turn them into competitive financing structures for Encavis.
We'll get wind of that soon:
- Experience & Track Record: You bring at least 8 to 10 years in project finance, ideally combining a banking or MLA background with advisory experience in renewable energy or infrastructure, and an outstanding record of structuring, negotiating and executing large-scale non-recourse financings.
- Education: You hold a Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a comparable field.
- Analytical & Modelling Strength: You review, challenge and validate complex financial models, assess risk with precision and translate due diligence findings into workable structures.
- Documentation Expertise: You negotiate LMA-style facility agreements with confidence and know how project contracts such as EPC, PPA and O&M influence bankability.
- Leadership & Ownership: You lead deal teams, run several parallel transactions without losing momentum and enjoy developing junior talent in a growing function.
- Communication & International Mindset: You communicate excellently in English and German, work naturally in international, cross-functional teams and are willing to travel across our European markets.
