Shape the Future of European Energy Markets

Are you passionate about the energy transition and eager to turn complex market developments into strategic business insights? As a Market Analyst, you will play a key role in understanding and assessing the dynamics of European energy markets. By combining quantitative analysis, market intelligence, and data-driven modelling, you will help identify risks and opportunities, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to the continuous development of Encavis' analytical capabilities. Working closely with experts across the business, you will transform market data into actionable recommendations that support the growth of our renewable energy portfolio and drive informed decisions across the organization.

Your sunny outlook:

YOUR MAIN FOCUS

Energy Market Analysis & Insights: 
You continuously analyze market drivers, structural trends as well as regulatory uncertainties in European energy markets and translate complex developments into actionable insights. 

Sensitivity Modelling: 
You determine key risks and chances in each market, define meaningful sensitivities and apply fundamental market models to derive impact metrics for all major business functions at Encavis. 

Integration & Tool Development: 
You work with the team to integrate modelling results and insights into the data pipelines and decision-making toolset at the company. 


FURTHER RESPONSIBILITIES - TOGETHER WITH THE TEAM

Risk Assessment & Portfolio Analytics:
You give continuous market advice on strategic risks and opportunities to portfolio management, investments and development departments.

Management & Decision Support:

You prepare ad-hoc analyses for management and the board and guide decision-makers with well-founded interpretations of assumptions, models, risks and results.

Academic Background & Experience: 
You have a university degree in natural sciences, economics, statistics or a comparable field, and more than one year of experience in a quantitative and/or market analyst role in commercial, trading, risk management or market advisory in the energy space. 

Quantitative & Analytical Expertise: 
You have experience in data analytics and the interpretation of fundamental models to evaluate risks and chances in energy markets. 

Data & Programming Skills: 
You are experienced in using AI tools as part of your analytical workflow — beyond coding assistance, you leverage them to create context-aware, agentic solutions that support automation, reproducibility and high-quality modelling. You confidently extract, manipulate and analyze data from APIs, databases and files, using Python, R and SQL, and visualize results visualize results and insights for decision making. 

Energy Markets & Renewables Mindset: 
You are passionate about the energy transition and bring know-how in renewable energy, power markets and, ideally, meteorology. 

Structured & Independent Working Style: 
You enjoy working independently, think analytically, act responsibly and contribute proactively as a reliable team player. 

Communication Skills: 
You communicate clearly and confidently in English and are comfortable explaining complex quantitative topics to non-technical stakeholders.
